Many publishing companies today are confronted with large amounts of unstructured content, which cannot be further processed and commercialized. Reasons for this situation are a lack of technologies and associated expertise.

In the project NOLDE (Network of Linked Data Excellence) two publishing companies (ÖGB Verlag, Monopol Verlag), two technology companies (Semantic Web Company, Compass Verlag) and two academic partners (FH St. Pölten, University of Applied Sciences Joanneum) work together to establish new methods of enterprise data management in publishing.

The NOLDE project aims to commercially tap existing Linked Data technologies, improve production work flow and expand the existing range of services. These include the development of new content curation services, knowledge discovery & recommendation services and dynamic semantic publishing strategies for the automatic processing of German-language content.
